This upstairs space is a wonderful living area (+/- 40m²) for 1 or 2 people, featuring 3 great rooms. The previous tenants really loved living here. You'll find our cozy student house with 2 studios and 8 rooms in the peaceful neighborhood of Ekkergem, where you can experience both an urban vibe and a village feel. What does the room look like? First, you enter your kitchen—the first room—(14m²) with a fridge, a white bar table, and 2 wooden barstools. One kitchen unit has a sink, the other has a stovetop. The kitchen is adjoining the second room (14m²), a living room where your shower and washbasin are also located. From this living space, you take the stairs up to the third area: an open mezzanine (+/-12m²), perfect as a cozy sitting area, storage space, or as a bedroom. The room is furnished: a bar table with two barstools, 2 cupboards, 2 desks with chairs, and in the mezzanine there is a double bed (without mattress for hygienic reasons), a fridge. Important to know: This unit does not have a private toilet! The toilet is communal and located on the first floor. Everything you need is nearby. Just a stone's throw away is the local bakery, and within a 500-meter radius there’s a Lidl and a Carrefour. Not much further, you’ll also find a Colruyt and a Bioplanet. The city center is just a 6-minute bike ride away. After riding for 3 minutes, you are at Groenevalleipark, the Watersportbaan, the GUSB sports complex, the Rooigem swimming pool, or a fitness club. There are chip shops, affordable restaurants, and cafes everywhere in the area. Tram stops are also close by. Within 5 minutes by bike, you reach Bijloke, the Sint-Lucas Academy, or the KASK conservatory. Even closer are the faculties of psychology and pedagogy, the Coupure or HILO campuses of Ghent University. And in Ghent, no school is ever really far away ;-) A cleaning team regularly cleans the common areas, but tidiness and order are the responsibility of the residents. The students agree among themselves on a rota for taking out the trash and sorting according to the rules of the City of Ghent. A few years ago, the roof was completely renewed and insulated according to the most recent standards. The rear facade was also insulated and renovated. All windows are double glazed. We have a valid certificate of conformity and meet all (fire) safety regulations. Our student rooms began in the 1980s, founded by my parents. Since the passing of my father, my husband Kasper and I have continued this beautiful life’s work. We live in West Flanders but come to Brankardierstraat whenever needed.
