1. Mijn account
Julie asked: I forgot my password, how can I reset it?
Our answer: This is very easy, go to forgot password and fill out your e-mail address or username. Within a couple of minutes you'll receive an e-mail with a link to reset your password.Xander asked: I want to delete my account, how does that work?
Our answer: If you have found a room or just don't want to have your details on our site, you can easily delete your account. Log on and go to: Delete my accountLaura asked: How can I stop mails, or change the e-mail frequency?
Our answer: This is very easy, go to change e-mail preferences and let us know if you want to change the mail frequency or stop e-mails all together.2. Betalen
Nicolas asked: How much does it cost to use iKot.be?
Our answer: We have different 'prepaid' subscriptions. You buy a vast amount of credits, respond to an ad is possible for just 0,38 euro per reply. With an (almost) unlimited account it is even cheaper to respond. On the page credits you'll find all the plans. You have to be logged on to see this page.Bob asked: I can't pay with the offered payment methods, what should I do?
Our answer: We offer different payment options on iKot.be:- PayPal
- Mastercard or Visa
- Bancontact (previously known as MrCash)
- iDeal
- SEPA Bank wire (with IBAN)
- Giropay
- Sofort
We have asked our users which payment metods they prefer. If you want to pay in another way, please contact us.
Anoniem asked: Is there a plan to react unlimited to rooms in stead of payment per reaction?
Our answer: Most of our users prefer the prepaid plans. We now also offer an Unlimited* account. This plan will give you 100 credits which is in most cases more than sufficient. If you use them all and are still without success within 1 year, we provide your account with new credits.*Unlimited is 100 credits, with unlimited refilling for one year.
Anoniem asked: Why did my payment fail?
Our answer: If you have paid with Bancontact or iDEAL and the money is withdrawn from your account, you can take these actions:- Log on and go to Transactions
- Click on the verify buttons right after your transaction.
In case of Paypal in take up to 10 minuten before your payment has been received. Contact us after 10 minutes, if the credits haven't been added to your account.
In all other cases you can contact us, please mail us the following details:
- date & time of your payment attempt
- the error message

Anoniem asked: I just paid, but I don't received the product on my account. Help?

Our answer: If you still have credits left, but after logging on you see "0 credits" in the upper right corner, something goes wrong. Please contact us and tell us when you paid for how many creditsKobe asked: Can I transfer my credits to another user?
Our answer: Unfortunately you can't transfer credits to other users.Maxim asked: Can I get a refund for the credits I didn't use?
Our answer: Unfortunately it is not possible to refund your credits after you bought them.Anoniem asked: I have paid via bank wire but received no credits.
Our answer: If you pay per bank wire it takes several working days to process your payment. If we receive your payment we will automatically sent you an e-mail via our Payment Provider (Pay.nl).In this e-mail you'll find a confirmation link to complete the transaction and receive the credits. If you encounter problems, please contact us.
3. Verhuren
Matthias asked: Can I let more than one room/apartment on iKot.be?
Our answer: On iKot.be there is no limit to the amount of room ads you can place. We do ask you to let us know if a room is let so we keep our website up to date. You can change the status of your room in your . You must be logged on to change the status.An Sofie asked: My flat has been let, what should I do?
Our answer: First you can log on. Than go to your personal page after wich you can select that you room is let. We'll save your room-details so you can easily reactivate your ad in the furutre.Dirk asked: Can I change the details of my room?
Our answer: First you can log in next you can surf to your personal page there you can change your room & pictures.Sonja asked: I get no response to my room
Our answer: Please check your contact details and make sure people are able to reach you via e-mail or phone. Some other tips:- Add some pictures to your ad, people respond better to rooms with pictures.
- Tell what amenities your room has.
- Write a good and detailed description
- Choose a reasonable asking price
- Upgrade your flat to a Spotlight. With a spotlight you receive more replies
Anoniem asked: How much does it cost to place a room-ad?
Our answer: It's 100% free to place a room on iKot.be, you can place as many ads as you want. This is free of charge.Next to that you can purchase a Spotlight. With spotlights you receive a lot more replies on your flat. Go to My rooms in the menu and choose Upgrade to Spotlight
Anoniem asked: Something goes wrong whilst placing an ad.
Our answer: If you encounter problems placing a room-ad, please contact us with the following details:- Your name & e-mail address of registration.
- Exact error and error message.
- All the details of your room and pictures.
With this information we might be able to fix the problem or to put your ad online.
Anoniem asked: I have placed a room, but it is not visible online.
Our answer: If you place an ad, we will moderate it first. Therefore it takes a while before it appears online.You can follow the status of moderation in personal page
4. Reageren
Nele asked: Why are there no available rooms in my city?
Our answer: For the rooms we are fully dependant on the landlords and students offering rooms to rent. We advise to check the city page frequently to check for new rooms.Tim asked: How recent are the room ads on iKot.be?
Our answer: Our ads are daily updated. This means that our rooms and apartments are free to rent most of the time.You can always respond to rooms if you have credits to find a room quickly.
Anoniem asked: The room has been rented, how is this possible?
Our answer: We do our utmost to only show available rooms. However we are dependent on the landlords and students offering rooms to rent. We always check with them if rooms are still free. If you found a room that is no longer available, please go to the Messagecenter, open the specific message and choose "This room was not available anymore" (you'll find this link on the flat page too). We will investigate the issue and add a credit to your account.Or contact us if you need help.
Heleen asked: Why is there no street number?
Our answer: This information is not disclosed on iKot.be. If you want to get the exact address, please contact the landlord.Kaitlyn asked: Where are the contact details to contact a landlord?
Our answer: Building iKot.be and maintaining it costs a lot of money, and therefore we ask a small fee from our users. You can contact a landlord by replying with credits.Credits start from a couple of euro's per subscription, you can buy it here.
Pieter asked: Can I share my credits with someone else?
Our answer: This is not allowed on iKot.beSeppe asked: The landlord doesn't respond to my e-mail, what to do?
Our answer: Sometimes it is the case that the landlord replies late, or doesn't reply at all. This could happen because of lack of time or because he has already rented the room.We advise you to wait a couple of days.
If you never get a reply, please go to the Messagecenter, open the specific message and choose "This room was not available anymore" (you'll find this link on the flat page too). We will investigate the issue and add a credit to your account.

Our answer: If you subscribe to iKot.be and you buy credits you can use it till one year after you bought it.Kato asked: I would like to call the landlord, but can't find a phonenumber
Our answer: Due to privacy we don't publish phone numbers without restrictions. If you reply to the landlord however, we will show his phone number(s), if available.We required at least one phone number in the 'add a flat' form.
Anoniem asked: I suspect fraud, I got a request to pay with Money Gram / Western Union.
Our answer: If someone ask you to pay upfront it is mostly fraud. Use extra caution when an advert seems very cheap or the landlord claims they cannot show you the room and pressurises you into signing and paying before you have seen anything or when you are asked to pay anything via Western Union or any other money transfer system.Any doubts? Please contact us. We can make a good estimation if it is fraud or not and take proper action.
