Spacious student room in the cozy Ekkergem neighborhood with 3 rooms, private shower and kitchen

This space on the upper floor is a lovely living area (approx. 40m²) for 1 or 2 people with 3 great rooms. The previous tenants absolutely loved living here. You’ll find our cozy student house with 2 studios and 8 rooms in peaceful Ekkergem, where you can enjoy both a hint of city vibe and a village feel. What does the room look like? First you enter your kitchen - the first room - (14m²) with a fridge, white bar table, and 2 wooden bar stools. One kitchenette has a sink; the other has a cooking plate. The kitchen opens into the second room (14m²); a living room where you'll also find your shower and washbasin. From this living area, you take the stairs to the third space; an open mezzanine (about 12m²), perfect as a cozy sitting corner, storage area, or as a bedroom. The room is furnished: a bar table with two stools, 2 wardrobes, 2 desks with chairs, and in the mezzanine there is a double bed (for hygienic reasons without mattress), and a fridge. Important note: This room does not have a private toilet! The toilet is shared and located on the first floor. Asking price incl. utilities and internet: 680 euros A bit more info: You live on a very quiet street. Everything you need is nearby. The local bakery is just a stone’s throw away, and within a 500-meter radius there’s a Lidl and Carrefour. Not much further, you’ll find a Colruyt and Bioplanet. It’s a 6-minute bike ride to the city center. After 3 minutes by bike you’re at Groenevalleipark, the Watersportbaan, the GUSB sports complex, Rooigem swimming pool, or a fitness club. Fry shops, affordable restaurants, and cafes abound in the area. There are also tram stops close by. A 5-minute bike ride will get you to the Bijloke, the Sint-Lucas Academy, or the KASK conservatory. Even closer by, you’ll find the psychology & education faculty, the Coupure or HILO campus of Ghent University. And in Ghent, no school is ever really far away ;-) A cleaning team regularly cleans the common areas, but order and tidiness are the responsibility of the residents. The students agree on a rota for taking out the trash and sorting according to the rules of the City of Ghent. A few years ago, the roof was completely renewed and insulated according to the latest standards. The rear facade was also insulated and renovated. All windows are double glazed. We have a valid certificate of compliance and fully meet (fire) safety regulations. Our student rooms were started in the 1980s by my parents. Since my father’s passing, my husband Kasper and I have continued this beautiful life’s work. We live in West Flanders, but come to Brankardierstraat when necessary.
