De Mertens en Torfsstraat is een rustige straat – en biedt dus een ideaal studeerklimaat – met beperkt doorgaand verkeer, niettegenstaande het op enkele honderden meters ligt van het Zuid en de Ossenmarkt en nabij de Lessiushogeschool, de Artesishogeschool en de UA. De tram passeert op 100m. Daarenboven is de fiets de meest efficiënte manier om je als student te verplaatsen. Het gebouw, volledig gerenoveerd in 2013, voldoet aan alle veiligheids- en milieunormen.
